Federally Compliant

Back in 2018, the federal government legalized hemp. The bill was clear about putting limits on THC. The bill states ‘‘(1) HEMP.—The term ‘hemp’ means the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of that plant, including the seeds thereof and all derivatives, ex- tracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis.” This is why edibles are technically legal everywhere in the US, unless a state has made a newer law restricting the Hemp Farming Act of 2018. When talking about THC in a plant, 0.3 percent wouldn’t get you too far for psycho activity. In a gummy, a manufacturer can make a gummy that weighs 5 grams and technically put up to 15mg of THC in it without surpassing the 0.3 percent dry weight verbiage of the law. This is also why Delta 8 THC is found almost everywhere. The law only stipulated Delta 9 THC content, inadvertently legalizing all other THCs. Law is only language after all!
